The stupidest lie in history. Nobody asks a question in the present tense. And if they do, it's obviously not meant that way. Did Clinton actually expect is to respect this stupid juvenile lie? Of course not. He was JUST KIDDING!
"If someone asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true." Really? No. It's an evasion,
No it wouldn't have been completely true. It would have been completely false, a desperate and useless attempt to avoid being found out. But, in all fairness, the dodge was meant as a totally disrespectful and inappropriate joke.
The interrogator should have said "Mr. President, this is no time for levity."
