PRAGER WROTE: Here's what's being taught in Universities.
1. There is no better and no worse in literature and the arts. The reason universities in the past taught Shakespeare, Michelangelo, and Bach rather than, let us say, Guatemalan poets, Sri Lankan musicians, and Native American storytellers was “Eurocentrism.”
2. There is no objective meaning to a text. Every text only means what the reader perceives it to mean.
Simply put, that's nonsense. Nobody thinks like that except a few college professor careerist pseudo post modernists. These are long outdated concepts touted for a short time in the seventies and never taken seriously by anyone. To bring these old myths up now is simply wrong. It's a canard. A false and slanderous claim; something D.P. should not be doing. It's mudslinging at progressives. Its the sort of thing that should backfire. Its untrue and unfair. Progressives can be brought to task with the truth. We all love the idea of reduced drudgery, but we cannot yet afford a 35 hour week. It may take a hundred years.
Here's Pat Buchanin:
America is losing control. Why? A failure to understand human nature and the lessons of history -- and the mindless pursuit of Utopian dreams.
We wagered the wealth of a nation on a Great Society gamble that through endless redistribution from top to bottom, we could create a more just, equal and productive society.
Long after reality caught up to us, we continue to chase the dreams.
That's how to bring a progressive to his senses. Shine the light on Europe's failed premature socialist anti economy. Admit that the end of drudgery is a fine goal, well intended. But premature. Lethally so.
