Heaven or hell riddle

The classic riddle, something along the lines of this:

There are two men, one who tells the truth and the other always lies. You don't know which is which. There is a door to life and a door to death. You don't know which is which. The Answer is traditionally been credited as
Spoiler:

Spoiler:
If one always lies, ask an obvious question you know the answer to. E.g "Do I have two heads?" Then from the guards reply you will know whether he is a liar or not.
